Good news - Bad news

Good news; smaller than predicted. Bad news; this may be a foreshock and not really the match to the 2MS PR above. Troublesome; Sunday eating grass, Stealth's diabetes out of control and I've been getting back of the head pressure. We certainly don't need Mammoth surprivsing us with a moderate large EQ and then eruption!

Katrina wiped out history in the south and left tens of thousands homeless. President Bush addressed the nation last night and admitted city, state and federal had made mistakes, but pointed out that Katrina's wrath was far greater than any had imagined and it is going to take the entire nation coming together to rebuild and repair. But no new taxes. Just a lot of hard work and giving. I felt almost good that I had just sent in my estimated taxes for the quarter. But then I thought, I would have felt better if I could have sent that money to the Red Cross feeding and helping the survivors begin to get back on their feet. They are still trying to match children to parents and it hasn't been easy because while the Red Cross centers are all the same net, others centers are not and can't share their data base. Should tell the Planers (for doing it better next time) to internet them all with the Red Cross. The Red Cross because it is the largest national emergency organization and has already computerized. Keep it civilian. With the good people. The volunteers.
