Okay, so get this --

A little while ago, I was awakened from a morning nap by a dream where I'm in an apartment, and the upstairs neighbor is making some sort of racket.  It felt like it was a female, and I thought, "What the hell is she doing up there?"  I awoke, thinking that maybe someone was on the roof of my house.  Poked my head outside the front door but there was no one, and the street was silent.  Went back into my bedroom, turned on the TV, and learned of this, which happened while I was sleeping (and about 20 minutes before I typed this blog):

3.8
Date-Time

Friday, November 05, 2010 at 09:06:37 AM at epicenter

Location 33.783°N, 118.132°W
Depth 21.6 km (13.4 miles)
Region GREATER LOS ANGELES AREA, CALIFORNIA
Distances

3 km (2 miles) SE (133°) from Long Beach, CA

Long Beach is 30 miles south of me, so I doubt we would've felt up much up here.  But very interesting given the dream.  And certainly explains last night's symptoms.   Diane lives either in or north of Long Beach -- I just left a message on her boards asking if she felt it.

By the way, this was followed 5 minutes later by a 1.7 about 40 miles northeast, in Sierra Madre, near Pasadena.  That's about 10 to 15 miles directly east of me.

MORNING EDIT

AND ... it appears this quake occurred directly on our Newport-Inglewood fault here.
